The Thanksgiving holiday is soon approaching and it's the season to give thanks and celebrate with food and family. It is also a day of gratitude and thankfulness. This is the perfect time to focus on the importance of gratitude. Many of us get so caught up and lose focus, setting our eyes on what we are lacking, that we tend to lose sight of the things that we should be grateful for. Take a minute and look around. Can you name five things that you are thankful for? When you concentrate on what you do have, it opens your heart and mind to recognize the blessings that stare you in the face.
Your bestie just purchased a new car, and your first response is...Are you happy or envious? Do you celebrate their success or do you secretly wish it were you? I encourage you to be happy for your friend on their accomplishment while being grateful for the car you've been driving for over seven years. In your eyes, your car may seem ancient, but it does get you where you need to go. There is a time and a purpose for everything, and when that time is aligned with God's plan, it will unfold.
Having a grateful heart opens the door for more blessings to enter your life. How can you manifest more into your life if you aren't practicing gratitude? The universe wants to bless us with abundance, but we must believe that we will receive it, and be appreciative of the blessings that we currently have.
It's important to have an attitude of gratitude when your life is in perfect order, and when it’s totally out of control. Life may not be perfect, but you can shift your perspective to see the good in all situations. During this holiday season, take a moment to pause and cherish the blessings that already surround you. Give thanks in all circumstances.
What are you thankful for?
